Q2 2024 UK Android Sandbox Game Trends: Top Performers Unveiled

As the second quarter of 2024 comes to a close, Sensor Tower provides a detailed look at how sandbox games have performed on the Android platform in the United Kingdom. Here's a snapshot of the top 5 sandbox games and their trends in downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Starting with Roblox, the game showed a steady revenue with a slight peak towards the end of May, hitting around $354K. Downloads fluctuated, with a notable increase in the last week of June, reaching 28K. Weekly active users started strong at 2.5M, dipped mid-quarter, but ended on a high note with nearly 2.8M active users.

Minecraft presented a more modest revenue trend, starting the quarter with $29K and dipping before climbing back up to $24K by the end of June. Downloads saw a decline from 1.9K to 1.7K, but weekly active users experienced an upward trend, finishing at 236K from a starting point of 217K.

For The Sims™ FreePlay, revenue began at approximately $13K and showed a general decline, ending at $8.7K. Downloads had a significant spike mid-April at 5.4K but ended the quarter with 2K. Weekly active users peaked at 23K in early June, despite a fairly steady decline throughout the quarter.

Avakin Life - 3D Virtual World saw revenues starting at nearly $6K and ending the quarter at around $5K. Downloads had a remarkable jump to 1.1K in early June, while weekly active users showed an increase, peaking at 5.9K also in early June.

Lastly, IMVU: Social Chat & Avatar app observed its revenue starting at $5K and ending slightly lower at $3.9K. Downloads peaked in early June at 852 but ended at 351. Weekly active users were highest at the start of June with 7.9K, then fell to 5.5K by the end of the quarter.
